Serving as a Staff Nurse and later as a Per Diem Nurse at McLean Hospital, as part of the Dissociative Disorders and Trauma Inpatient Program, was a privilege that shaped who I am as a clinician.  For over six years there, I worked alongside a multidisciplinary team of nurses, Mental Health Specialists, social workers, group therapists, and psychiatrists.  I came to believe deeply in what that kind of collaboration can offer to someone who is struggling. Together, we worked to provide compassionate, patient-centered, trauma-informed care to individuals carrying a wide range of psychiatric and health needs.  This experience solidified my decision to become a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.  More recently, I’ve also had the privilege of serving as a Registered Nurse at one of McLean Hospital’s partial residential programs, supporting individuals receiving psychiatric consultation, assessment, and treatment.  Outside of direct patient care, I’ve also enjoyed mentoring new grad nurses, new hires, and nursing students.

APPROACH

I believe healing happens through establishing strong therapeutic rapport.  Reaching out for mental health treatment can feel overwhelming, even daunting.  My intention is to create a compassionate, welcoming space to get to know you as a person and take the time to understand your individual needs. I value open communication and shared-decision making. Together, we’ll explore evidence-based treatment options and identify interventions that best fit your goals. In addition to medication management, I often draw on brief skills-based strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to support the work we do together.  I strive to provide affirming, inclusive care to all individuals, including those who are part of the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
