Natasa Ristivojevic, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Prior Experience
Before transitioning to my role as a nurse practitioner, I served as a psychiatric registered nurse at McLean Hospital. During this time, my focus centered on treating substance use disorders alongside affective and psychotic disorders. Working on inpatient units allowed me to gain invaluable hands-on experience in caring for individuals with complex mental health diagnoses and tailoring care to their unique needs.
Following the completion of my psychiatric nurse practitioner program, I embarked on a transformative year-long fellowship at Eliot Community Human Services. In this role, I provided treatment to a diverse client base in an outpatient setting, honing my ability to deliver personalized, high-quality care across a wide range of mental health challenges.
My Approach & Values
At the heart of every successful therapeutic relationship lies a genuine human connection. I firmly believe that respect, compassion, attentive listening, and open communication form the foundation of meaningful partnerships in the journey toward mental health and wellness.
My treatment philosophy is grounded in evidence-based practices and the thoughtful use of prescription medications. However, I recognize that optimizing mental health involves much more than medication alone. Incorporating essential habits – such as quality sleep, regular exercise, and balanced nutrition – plays a critical role in promoting brain health and overall well-being. Through this holistic approach, I work collaboratively with my clients to design a personalized treatment plan that aligns with their goals and aspirations.
