Natasa Ristivojevic, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

As Juliana and James, prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I also worked as a psychiatric registered nurse at McLean Hospital. My registered nursing experience was focused on substance use disorders, as well as affective and psychotic disorders. I have worked on inpatient units where I learned how to treat and care for clients with these mental health diagnoses. After completing the psychiatric nurse practitioner program, I have completed a year long fellowship at the Eliot Community Human Services where I have worked with a wide range of clients providing treatment in an outpatient setting.

My Approaches and Values

My treatment approach is based on using evidence based interventions and judicious use of prescription medications. However, prescribing the right medication regimen is only one part of the treatment that leads to alleviating mental and emotional suffering. I believe that in order to optimize mental health, health habits such as sleep, exercise and nutrition play a significant role in how our brains and minds work, therefore integrating interventions on how to improve these aspects of a client’s life are part of my treatment. I also believe in the healing power of human connection. Through genuine respect, care, compassion, careful listening and open communication, I hope to become your partner on the path to mental health and wellness.
